Program:

Registration for the Canadian Tax Workshop can be done online at any time, or, in-person, from 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28th through 12 noon on Friday, September 30th.

This two and a half day Workshop covering the key tax issues U.S. companies who are doing business with Canadians or in Canada need to know. The primary focus of the Workshop will be on GST, HST and Income Tax but will also cover QST, Payroll and Property Taxes. Attendees will also participate in an interactive audit session covering Canadian tax issues that they’ve been dealing with.  Only employees of COST member and non-COST member companies are invited to attend.

COVID-19 Safety Protocols at COST Meetings – All in-person attendees at COST meetings will be required to comply with current state, local, and meeting venue COVID-19 safety protocols as well as submit a health survey upon arrival at the meeting. COST will provide COVID-19 mitigation protocols in advance of the meeting, which may require unvaccinated attendees to wear a facemask while not eating, drinking, or social distancing, and/or a recommendation to wear a facemask for vaccinated attendees unless eating, drinking, or social distancing. Thank you for your understanding as we deal with the ever-changing COVID world.

COVID-19 Refund/Credit Policy for COST Meetings – COST will refund 100% of registration fees for registered attendees unable to attend a COST meeting in 2022 due to company COVID-19 travel restrictions in place at the time of the meeting. In addition, COST will issue an appropriate refund or credit for attendees unable to attend all or part of a COST meeting due to illness. COST will also allow substitute attendees if a registered attendee is unable to attend due to COVID-19 related issues.

Cancellation Fees:

A $50 cancellation fee will be imposed for cancellations received on or before September 15, 2022; cancellations after September 22nd will not be refunded.

Rooms have been reserved at a rate of $189 single/double (plus taxes). Please make your hotel reservations directly with the Sheraton.  September 2 is cut-off date for room block. 

Continuing Education:

COST will assist you in applying for Continuing Education credit for the COST 2022 Canadian Taxes for U.S. Companies Workshop. COST is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.learningmarket.org.

Weather:

September’s average high in Phoenix is in the low 90’s and the average low is in the mid-70’s. Dress for the conference is business casual.  We encourage you to bring a sweater or jacket to the meeting as the meeting rooms tend to be on the cooler side.
