Program:
Registration begins at 7:15 on Wednesday, September 25th with the first session starting at 8:00 a.m. The Workshop will conclude at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27th.
The goal of this program is to provide a two and a half day workshop which will cover the key tax issues that U.S. Companies outside of Canada who are doing business with Canadians or in Canada need to know. The workshop will cover GST, HST and Income Tax, as well as QST, Payroll and Property Taxes. An interactive audit session covering Canadian taxes is also planned.
This Workshop is for someone with all levels of GST, HST, QST, Payroll and Property Tax experience. No advanced preparation is needed.

A $50 cancellation fee will be imposed for cancellations received on or before September 2nd; cancellations after September 2nd will not be refunded. Member companies must be in good standing with COST at time of registration and time of program for employees to attend at the COST membership rate.

Hotel Reservations:
Please make your hotel reservations directly with the hotel. Please call the Hyatt Lodge reservations at 630.568.1234 and let them know you are attending the Council On State Taxation Meeting. Rooms have been reserved at a rate of $162 (plus taxes) single/double. We encourage you to make your room reservation early as rooms in the COST block and hotel may sell out. The hotel room reservation cut-off date is September 3, 2019.
Continuing Education:
COST will assist in applying for Continuing Education credit for the 2019 Canadian Tax Workshop. COST is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.learningmarket.org. For CLE credits and more CPE information, please email [email protected]. This course is tentatively approved for 15 CPE (50 min.) hours. There are no prerequisites for this workshop and the program level is intermediate. COST will also assist in securing CLE credits with state bar associations.

Dress
Dress for the conference is business casual. We encourage you to bring a sweater or jacket to the meeting as the meeting rooms tend to be on the cooler side.
