Transportation

16th Street Shuttle – Runs throughout the central business and entertainment district of downtown Denver.

Light Rail Service/RTD – Stops at most corners in the city, including Invesco Field, Pepsi Center/Six Flags/Elitch Gardens, Union Station - Lower downtown (LODO)/Coors Field/16th Street Mall.

Denver Airport Rail- Travelers can now use A Line, the new rail service from Denver International Airport to LoDo's (lower downtown) Union Station and back, courtesy of Regional Transportation District (RTD).  The Denver airport rail has six stops along the way and takes approximately 37 minutes at a cost of $9 each way.

Program

The conference is scheduled to begin with registration on Monday, April 29th at 1:00 p.m. with the opening sessions at 4:00 p.m. the conference will conclude at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2019.

The goal of this program is to bring multistate tax professionals, with various levels of experience in state and local income/franchise taxes, together in a group live environment that allows for extensive interaction and exchange of information as well as updates on key SALT issues and insights regarding state tax trends and opportunities. The program is targeted to all levels of experience and no advance preparation is needed.

This program is open to COST Industry Members Only.

Cancellation Policy

A $50 cancellation fee will be imposed for cancellations received on or before March 29th; cancellations after the 29th will not be refunded.  Member companies must be in good standing with COST at time of registration and time of program for employees to attend.  For more information regarding COST’s complaint and refund policies, please email Karen Galdámez.

Reservations

Rooms have been reserved at a rate of $219 (plus taxes). Please make your hotel reservations directly with the Grand Hyatt Denver using this link or by calling 303.295.1234. Let them know that you are attending the Spring Audit Session/Income Tax Conference with the Council On State Taxation.

We encourage you to make your room reservations early as rooms in the COST block and hotel will sell out. Note: April 8, 2019 is the room reservation cut-off date. Rooms at the group rate may not be available if the COST room block sells out prior to April 8th.

Continuing Education

COST will assist you in applying for Continuing Education credit for the 2019 Income Tax Conference/Spring Audit Session.  COST is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.learningmarket.org.

Weather

April’s average high in Denver is in the mid 60’s and in the evenings in the mid 30’s.

Dress for the conference is business casual.  We encourage you to bring a sweater or jacket to the meeting as the meeting rooms tend to be on the cooler side.
